August Snacktivities Classes

Our August Snacktivities Classes are held each August  when most other programs are closed. Our full-day of classes are structured so that children/teens/young adults of all abilities are able to participate. Our new 1:1 member to staff ratio gives everyone the chance to receive the individual attention they need to succeed while also ensuring that all safety and social distancing guidelines are followed. Members will participate in a combination of in-person and group virtual classes that include but are not limited to music, art, exercise, yoga, dance, and cooking. Snacks will be provided and special diets will be honored - members need to provide lunch. At SNACK* people of all abilities are welcome including those with no diagnosis. ALL SNACK* activities are open to the general public.  

Art

Art Class focuses on the exploration of different theme-based projects allowing participants the opportunity to use different media, improve fine motor skills, and take pride in a finished project. Participants have the opportunity to socialize with peers during the weekly Virtual Classes through video chats in Zoom. At SNACK, participants of ALL abilities are welcome including those with no diagnosis. All SNACK classes are open to the general public.

Fitness

Taught by a personal trainer, this class stresses the importance of daily exercise to achieve overall good health and wellness. Participants are guided through exercises that focus on improving physical agility and strength. Participants have the opportunity to socialize with peers during the weekly Virtual Classes through video chats in Zoom. At SNACK, participants of ALL abilities are welcome including those with no diagnosis. All SNACK classes are open to the general public.

Music

Participants engage in creative musical experiences such as singing, following directions, enhancing gross motor skills through musical movement, and musical relaxation with the guide of a music teacher. Participants have the opportunity to socialize with peers during the weekly Virtual Classes through video chats in Zoom. At SNACK, participants of ALL abilities are welcome including those with no diagnosis. All SNACK classes are open to the general public.

Dance Class

Dance Class focuses on our Members physical flexibility, balance, and agility through fun dance movements. Led by a professional dancer, Members are encouraged to express themselves independently through body movement. 

Yoga

Yoga Class teaches participants relaxation practices through guided poses and breathing techniques designed to help improve self-regulation. Participants have the opportunity to socialize with peers during the weekly Virtual Classes through video chats in Zoom. At SNACK, participants of ALL abilities are welcome including those with no diagnosis. All SNACK classes are open to the general public.
